Investing in general and investing in Startups, in particular, seems to be more seasonal.
Two years back, we saw a surge of investing where more often than not, economic and finance fundamentals were not as important as a theme. Investors seemed to want a share of the theme and forecasted profits.
Now, nothing seems to be important – neither theme nor team. We often hear, “It is the dry season, Sir”.
But do we read about enough quantum of available committed funds and new funds being mopped up?
Good themes and teams do not wait for any season! They happen all the time, all year long.
We probably need to become more seasoned investors to weather this dry season.
